Pepper Money — Smart Debit for Young Professionals
Project overview
Pepper Money is a digital-first debit account built for young,
newly independent professionals. It brings together everyday
payments, UPI, rewards, and spending insights into one simple,
confidence-driven experience — removing the anxiety typically
associated with managing money.
The problem
Young earners were financially active but lacked awareness and
control. Existing banking apps felt intimidating, cluttered,
and emotionally distant. Users struggled to track spending,
understand rewards, and build healthy habits without feeling
overwhelmed.
Design approach
The design process began with user interviews and behavioral
research to understand emotional triggers around money.
Information hierarchy was simplified, navigation was reduced
to essential actions, and the UI system was designed to feel
friendly, reassuring, and reward-driven.
Primary persona
Rahul (25–28) is a salaried professional living independently
for the first time. He earns consistently but lacks structured
money habits. He values clarity, control, and rewards —
without the pressure of complex financial jargon.
Impact & outcomes
The final product launched as a confident, friendly financial
companion for first-time earners. By combining clarity, visual
warmth, and rewards-driven motivation, Pepper Money helped users
engage more consciously with their spending and build trust with
the product from day one.
